Cindy Malhotra is an artist and educator whose work focuses on revealing the true nature of her subject using the photographic process. As the viewer studies her photographs, it is clear that a connection has been established between artist and subject. She asks that they unmask themselves, respectful of their space, they are comforted and respond. Confident compositions and rich print quality affirm Cindy's skill as an artist, photographer and printer.

She graduated with a BFA in Studio Art (photography concentration) and MS in Graphic Communications Technology Management from Kean University. During the Dot.com boom in the late 1990s, she worked as a Web Designer/Producer for various companies in New York City and continues to freelance in that capacity.

Once Cindy became interested in new media technology and working in the Internet industry, she began to create "stories" by animating her photography and poetry to create "Poesia Visual." The on-line gallery of this body of work will be posted in the near future.

As a poet, her work has been published in several national publications. As a photographer, she continues to work on her book and a new series of prints (both will be posted soon). One of her experiments fusing digital imaging and traditional darkroom techniques was included in a group exhibit at the Union Library and was reviewed by The Star-Ledger.

Cindy has taught for several learning institutions, including New York's Penn South Program for Seniors, the Continuing Education Program and Center for Instructional Resources at Kean University, and the Visual Communications Program at Gibbs College. Currently she is teaching, at the undergraduate and graduate level, in the Department of Design at Kean University.
